About the artist

I’m Alexa Kastan and I am a Northern New Jersey based weaver. I have been weaving for 13 years. Throughout my years of creating, I have always gravitated towards extremely soft yarn which is why I weave with rayon chenille. I design, weave and sew each and every piece in my collection. Weaving is a long and tedious process which I find to be very relaxing. It gives me the chance to reflect, think and experiment with color. The soft and luxurious texture of my weaving brings comfort to those who need it the most, which is why I created a line of woven products specifically geared to babies and young children. I want my work to be enjoyed by kids of all ages.
